Heritage corridors may hit dead end
The Tribune Review Reports:
With the state facing a budget deficit due to the recession, Gov. Ed Rendell slashed funding for the National Road group and 11 similar organizations, including the Lincoln Highway Heritage Corridor in Ligonier and the Rivers of Steel National Heritage Area in Homestead.

Hit and run crash in Connellsville
The Herald Standard Reports:

A hit-and-run crash at the intersection of Crawford Avenue and Pittsburgh Street late Monday night sent two people to an area hospital. Witness at the scene reported that this car was struck by an SUV that fled the scene after the impact. The force of the impact caused this car to strike a utility pole that supported the traffic lights at the intersection knocking them out. Connellsville city police were assisted at the crash scene by Fayette EMS and New Haven Hose Company. (John F. Brothers/Herald-Standard)
Housing project makes progress
The Herald Standard Reports:
The first four of the 30 rent-to-own homes under construction in Uniontown through the Uniontown Family Homes partnership will be completed and available to people with low to moderate incomes in mid-April.
