Update: Suspect in incident at district attorney’s home faces new charge

March 24, 2009

The Herald Standard Reports:

A Uniontown man picked the wrong home to take a peek in Sunday night.

State police said Ronald D. Romesburg, 29, was charged before Magisterial District Judge Joseph M. George Jr. with providing false reports to law enforcement, loitering and prowling at night and disorderly conduct after Fayette County District Attorney Nancy D. Vernon’s son and husband caught Romesburg peering inside the family’s South Union Township home.

State police said the incident occurred around 8:45 p.m. when Nancy Vernon’s son, Daniel Eddy, arrived at the home and saw a white van parked outside.

Police said Eddy, who is a probation officer, saw two men looking through the windows of a guest home at the residence and loitering around the Vernon home.

Romesburg was identifed in an earlier H-S News Now post as Daniel Spinelli, howver, police discovered it was a bogus identity.

After he was positively identifed, police said the charges against him were amended to include providing false reports to law enforcement.
