Hearing continued for Brownsville man charged with homicide
The Herald Standard Reports:
A preliminary hearing for a Brownsville man charged with homicide for allegedly running over his wife with his car June 21 Menallen Township was continued today.
Trooper John F. Marshall said Ronald Lee Higinbotham, 44, of 603 Spring St. was charged before Magisterial District Judge Joseph M. George Jr. with criminal homicide in the death of Carmen L. Higinbotham, also of Brownsville.
According to Marshall, the charges were filed after Ronald Higinbotham used his car to run over his wife following an argument at 11:59 p.m. on Route 40 near the intersection with Searights Road.
A new hearing date has not been scheduled.

Hearing delayed again for Smock woman charged with homicide
The Herald Standard Reports:
A Fayette County judge again continued a hearing for a Smock woman accused of killing her mother last year so she could undergo further medical and psychological examinations.
Angela Modispaw, 31, has some sort of growth on her brain, District Attorney Nancy D. Vernon said.
In May, Modispaw’s attorney, Assistant Public Defender Susan Ritz Harper, told Judge Gerald R. Solomon that she requested that additional tests done.
During proceedings this morning before Solomon, Assistant Public Defender David Kaiser said that the growth has been diagnosed and Modispaw will likely have to undergo surgery.

Helicopter pilot died from multiple injuries after crash in Wharton Township
The Tribune Review Reports:
Jonathan Todd Kidd of Las Vegas was killed July 22 when his helicopter crashed in a field along Kirby Road in Forbes State Forest.
