Senior fair in Waynesburg to feature flu shots

State Rep. Bill DeWeese, D-Waynesburg, has announced that flu shots will be available for older residents at the 13th annual Senior Fair from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at the Greene County Fairgrounds.
The free event is jointly sponsored by the Southwestern Pennsylvania Area Agency on Aging, Greene County Board of Commissioners, Wal-Mart, Cornerstone Care, Primary Care Center of Mount Morris, Dominion Resources and Columbia Gas.
The Senior Fair includes information from local, state and federal agencies, health screenings, door prizes and light refreshments.
Attendees are reminded to bring their insurance cards for the health screenings.

State police investigate robbery in Greene County

September 25, 2009

The Herald Standard Reports:

PERRY TWP. — State police said they are looking for two men accused of robbing a convenience store in Perry Township, Greene County, Thursday evening.

According to police, the alleged robbery occurred at 7:09 p.m. when two men wearing hooded sweatshirts and using bandanas to cover their faces entered the Marathon convenience store.

Police said one of the men had a towel covering his hands and what appeared to be a weapon concealed underneath.

Police said the men demanded money and fled the store on foot after receiving nearly $400 from store clerks.

Anyone with information regarding the robbery is asked to call police at 724-627-6151.
