Hey, Coach! In this tough economy, I have been pretty lucky with job prospects and interviews, but I end up not being successful and am finding this process to be very frustrating. I have even received two second interviews that I thought went very well, but I was unable to get the job. I am thinking that some of this may have to do with my response to salary questions. The first time I had a second interview, I felt I was worth close to the top of the pay scale. Maybe I cost myself the job by thinking that way. The other time I had a second interview, I played it safe and stayed in the middle of the salary scale, and I still did not get the job. Do you have any experience with salary negotiations that can help me? .
