Newell is a borough in Fayette County, Pennsylvania. The population was 551 at the 2000 census.

There were 232 housing units at an average density of 144.5/km² (375.8/mi²). The racial makeup of the borough was 99.82% White and 0.18% African American. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.54% of the population.
